Wiring
Rockford Fosgate wiring will be used throughout the installation. Rockford matrix cables are to be used for signal, and Rockford 4ga power and ground wire are used to supply the amplifier with its required current.
To install the wiring, nearly all of the interior had to be gutted. First the seat was removed, then the seat belts, trim, and finally the carpet was removed. After this, the metal surfaces were cleaned with soap and water. This was done for two reasons. First, it made the environment far cleaner to work in, and second, it allows tape to adhere to the metal so that wiring can be affixed.
The following images show the interior after several hours of tear down.
The wiring was taped down using duct tape. This kept the wire in the correct location when the carpet was reinstalled. This also helped to minimize wire length by going in a more direct path from point to point.
Before the box was installed a stainless steel ground bolt for the amplifier ground cable had to be located. A hole was drilled through the floor, making sure not to hit the vehicle gas tank or any other critical items. A large fender washer was used along with silicone caulk to make sure that the bolt hole would not leak or rust.
The box was then installed, followed by the system crossovers. These were wired and tested prior to installing the amplifier.
