Precision Power Sedona APA 430iX
This old amp worked fine when I got it, but
I chose to take it apart anyway to see what made it tick. When I did, I noticed
the output and power supply devices were clamped down to the heatsink, with a
mica wafer in between, and the heatsink itself was even painted where the
devices sat. I decided to improve its thermal transfer, so I sanded the paint
off and ditched the mica in favor of an anodized aluminum thin sheet insulator.
The amplifier should now be able to dispose of heat much better.
I also tested all parts of the amp (each speaker output, and the AUX outputs),
and the amplifier works 100%. It is however a bit beat up, and rusted.
The original speaker plugs with the correct channels labeled are included, as is
a manual for the amplifier.
